We somehow surfed into your site and we would like to link it to our 4 clothing domains….
do you think it is a good idea?
I’m currently looking for a change in the type of business that I am involved in - I currently own and manage a Mobile
phone company(telecommunications).
I don’t have much experience in fashion retail - apart from loving beautiful clothes and accessories,
and how they can make me feel - and also having a long time desire to introduce fashion in a more dominant way
to the country that i’m from.
My first admission is that, although I have been thinking about going into fashion retail for a long time now
- I don’t know where/how to start sourcing.
I know this is a vague post, but i’m hoping it will generate some interest from someone who may be able to help.
Please post an email/website - or let me know if you can point me in a promising direction.
Thank you.
I’m currently into buying of bulk fabrics lilke cotton printed strechy cotton, all types of cotton, raw silk tafetta etc. I am looking for fabric sellers where i can purchase fabrics from. i would be grateful if you can locate sellers in turkey, dubai, anywhere in europe.
thanks
I just joined this blog and a lot of people have contacted me lately, because they need creative help.
Let me tell you a little more about me and what I do.
My name is Anna and I’m the Designer behind Juna Clothing Design Studio.
I started Juna Clothing to offer small start-up companies an affordable and experienced, fully equipped Fashion Design Studio.
I have worked in the Apparel Industry for many years now and have worked in many different fields…from Childrenswear, to Womenswear and Menswear, budget to high end.
Some of the companies that I have worked with include Oshkosh B’gosh, Little Me, Generra, Putumayo, Ralph Lauren, Crewcuts by J.Crew and many more.
I offer everything from Branding, to trend (colors, trends, etc), design entire collections, original artwork as well as production and development support.
You can also visit my website (www.junaclothing.com) any time to find out more about me and see some of my work.
Please feel free to contact me any time if you have any questions or would like to talk a little further about your needs.
Take care
Anna
Hello,
I have a start-up company, (actually less than a start-up right now), which is for men’s casual shirts aimed at the motorcycle/rock & roller/hotrodder/counterculture market. Woven shirts, (like hawaiian style or bowling style) not knit t-shirts. The business plan is to enter distribution and have the product sold through speciality markets such as motorcycle shops, speciality stores that cater to the above mentioned market segments. I do not want to go door to door hawking my wares. I want to have samples that I can show at trade shows (which trade shows?), use for photo shoots for brochures for mailing (which distributors to mail to?).
Currently I have contacted a contractor that can do samples as well as production work, but I don’t feel the prices are where I want them to be. I realize that I don’t have the power of volume in my favor, but I’m in San Diego so I can go across the border pretty easily. First I need to get the product into the minds of the buyers, so they will want to place orders. This all sounds like a textbook plan, but I need some direction on who to approach to get market penetration. I know I could blindly send out a mailer to any retailer that I think may be interested, but my gut feeling is that I will be perceived as a rube and not taken seriously.
I also don’t want to commit to a quantity of product and hope to find buyers.
I also will have to buy a Calif. Garment Mfgrs. license as well, unless I can offshore my idea immediately.
My general questions are: is my market entry plan feasable? How do I go about entering the market? Who or how would you recommend as my starting point? Trade shows?, Direct mail?, individual speciality shop buyers? (then what do I present? a sample? a photo? a minimum order qty?). As you may be able to tell, I am new to the apparel industry.
I would be very appreciative for any suggestions, advice, contacts from industry veterans.
Thanks
Bryan Weaver
