Amy Winehouse dies at 27

London, England, United Kingdom (Celebrity News Service) – Amy Winehouse has died. She was 27.

The troubled Grammy Award-winning singer was reportedly found dead in her London apartment on Saturday. The cause of death is currently “unexplained.”

According to the UK’s Daily Mail, London’s Metropolitan Police did not directly identify the singer in their statement, but did give details on what they found.

“Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square NW1 shortly before 16.05hrs today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased,” the statement read.

“On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene,” the statement continued. “Inquiries continue into the circumstances of the death. At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained.”

The news comes just a month after Winehouse canceled her European tour, following a disastrous performance where she was stumbling on stage, slurring the words, and was eventually booed.

Winehouse was set to receive treatment once again for her drug and alcohol addiction. She last left a treatment facility back in May.

She was also working on the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2008′s multi-platinum and award-winning “Back to Black.”

Lopez and Anthony fought for months prior to split

Los Angeles, CA, United States (Celebrity News Service) – Contrary to Marc Anthony’s statement about the end of his marriage, it turns out that Anthony and Jennifer Lopez’s split may not have been “amicable” after all.

According to a source close to the family, the end of the couple’s seven year marriage came after “months of nonstop arguing.”

The source states that the reasons for the arguing included Anthony’s envy of Lopez’s “American Idol” stint, and Lopez’s fear that Anthony wasn’t faithful.

An insider for Anthony sees things differently and contests claims of Anthony’s infidelity.

“They started to see life differently,” the insider said.

“Though they love, admire and respect each other very much, they just needed to be apart,” the insider added.

Lopez and Anthony announced their surprising split on July 15th.

Wagner keeps lead, Romo moves closer at American Century celebrity golf

Lake Tahoe, NV, United States (AHN Sports) – Jack Wagner is the only non-athlete to win the American Century championship and he’s in position for another title.

Wagner, the well-known actor, added 23 points to his first-day total of 29 at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Club and leads Dallas quarterback Tony Romo by six points.

Romo, who may be in training camp in a couple of weeks as the NFL lockout moves closer to resolution, put up 27 points for a 46 total and will play with Wagner for Sunday’s final 18 holes.

Retired quarterback Chris Chandler had 18 points for his second round and was alone in third with 42.

Another actor and newcomer to the celebrity leaderboard was Oliver Hudson, who was just a point behind Chandler with 41.

John Smoltz, Vinny Del Negro and Jeremy Roenick were tied with 40 points.

Dave Grohl kicks fan out of recent Foo Fighters’s show

Los Angeles, CA, United States (Celebrity News Service) – Dave Grohl kicked a fan out of a recent show after a fight broke out during the band’s performance at the iTunes Festival in London.

Once Grohl noticed the skirmish, the singer silenced the band, and then called out to the crowd, pointing at the fight and preceded to berate the man who started the fight with a swarm of expletives.

“Get the f–k out of my show, right now,” Grohl screamed at the fan.

“You don’t come to my show and fight — you come to my show and f–cking dance, you a—hole,” he continued.

While there is no way of knowing if the fan actually left, the crowd started chanting “Dave” after the incident, and Grohl continued with the set.

The iTunes Festival will continue through July.

The IHeartRadio Music Festival announced

Los Angeles, CA, United States (Celebrity News Service) – Clear Channel Radio has announced the iHeartRadio Music Festival which will be a two-day music event hosted by Ryan Seacrest.

The staggering line-up includes Lady Gaga, Coldplay, and the Black Eyed Peas among a plethora of other artists that have been announced, with more announcements to come.

“Music is the heart of our business and we think there is no better way to celebrate the launch of the New iHeartRadio than with a groundbreaking, multi-day festival featuring the world’s biggest, most exciting artists – and reaching the largest combined U.S. radio and online audience ever,” Bob Pittman, Chairman of Media and Entertainment Platforms for Clear Channel Radio said in a statement.

“This underscores Clear Channel’s transformation to a dynamic integrated media and entertainment company with an unmatched reach in the U.S.,” he added.

This diverse group of the grandest names in music will appear on one stage at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on September 23 and 24.

The concert is to help celebrate the official launch of the New iHeartRadio, a service that will combine Clear Channels’ more than 750 broadcast radio and digital-only stations from 150 cities with the ability to create custom stations.

Live audio and video streams of the iHeartRadio Music Festival will be available online, via mobile devices at www.iHeartRadio.com.

TNT orders full season of “Dallas” re-boot

Los Angeles, CA, United States (Celebrity News Service) – “Dallas” is officially going to become a series. TNT gave the show’s modern day update an order of 10 episodes.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, “Dallas,” based on the hit drama which aired for thirteen seasons from 1978 to 1991, will once again follow the drama of a wealthy Texas family in the oil and cattle-ranching industries.

The new “Dallas” stars “Desperate Housewives” alums Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, and Brenda Strong, as well as Jordana Brewster (“Fast Five”), and Julie Gonzalo (“Veronica Mars”).

Also returning to the series are original “Dallas” vets Larry Hagman as J.R. Ewing, Patrick Duffy as Bobby Ewing, and Linda Gray as Sue Ellen Ewing.

Cynthia Cidre (“Cane”) wrote the pilot and will executive produce along with Michael M. Robin, who directed the show’s premiere episode.

“TNT has explored the possibility of an updated version of ‘Dallas’ for several years, but it wasn’t until we read Cynthia Cidre’s outstanding pilot script that we knew we had the foundation for a great new series,” said TNT executive vice president and head of programming Michael Wright.

“Dallas” will begin airing in the summer of 2012 on TNT.

Madonna officially starts work on new album

Los Angeles, CA, United States (Celebrity News Service) – While most others fired up the grill and watched fireworks, Madonna spent her 4th of July hitting the recording studio for the first time to work on her 12th studio album.

According to her manager Guy Oseary, Madonna hit the studio to work on the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2008′s “Hard Candy,” which featured production by Timbaland and Pharrell of the Neptunes and launched the ultra-successful “Sticky & Sweet” tour.

“It’s official.. Madonna’s 1st day in the recording studio for the new album… Very exciting.. Happy 4th of july…” Oseary tweeted on Monday.

The tweet earned some major excitement from her fans, including Kylie Minogue who retweeted Oseary’s post and added her own “Yaayyy!!!!” Madonna responded to Minogue’s post via Oseary’s account, writing, “Thanks for the love.”

Since “Hard Candy” and her sold-out tour, Madonna has kept herself busy by opening Hard Candy Fitness Centers around the world, working with her Raising Malawi project, and even directing a feature film, “W.E.,” which is set to hit theaters in December.

Disney set to make a Movie based on Matterhorn ride

Los Angeles, CA, United States (Celebrity News Service) – Disney is developing an adventure movie inspired by the Matterhorn ride with a working title of “The Hill”.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Jason Dean Hall is set to write the script with Justin Springer producing.

The Matterhorn, which is also known as the Matterhorn Bobsleds, is part of Disneyland’s Fantasyland section.

The idea behind the movie would be a fast-paced thriller that centers on five young adventure seekers who are called to the top of the mountain and encounter Yetis on the journey down.

Adapting Disney rides into film franchises has become a priority for Disney with its most successful example being the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie franchise.

Joe Rogan to return for “Fear Factor” re-boot

Los Angeles, CA, United States (Celebrity News Service) – NBC’s return of “Fear Factor” will include the return of original host Joe Rogan to the show.

According to TV Guide, the reality series host will return when the show comes back for its eight-episode run.

There is also a good chance that stunt coordinator Pat Romano and director Rupert Thompson will return alongside Rogan, executive producer Matt Kunitz told the Hollywood Reporter.

Kunitz also added that the re-booted series would focus on family and embrace technology in a way that the original show was unable to do.

During its original NBC run from summer 2001 to 2006, “Fear Factor” averaged 11.5 million viewers per show.

Ex-CNN sportscaster Nick Charles dead at 64; battled bladder cancer

Santa Fe, NM, United States (AHN Sports) – Charles, 64, passed away peacefully Saturday in Santa Fe, New Mexico after a two-year battle with bladder cancer.

Known for his manly look and alluring accent, Charles had been the face of “CNN Sports Tonight” with Fred Hickman and the voice of Showtime Boxing.

Charles, who worked as a cabbie before he became a sports celebrity, claimed the title as the sexiest sportscaster in America twice.

Before his death, Charles sent words of encouragement to his friends and was a loving husband to his wife, Cory, and father to his daughter, Giovanna.

Diagnosed with bladder cancer in August of 2009, Charles had his last blow-by-blow commenting job with HBO, calling the Mikey Garcia-Matt Remillard bout in Atlantic City in March.

Despite the long travel and his illness, Charles’ voice remained the same. He never showed hints of being weak as the bout ended in a TKO win by Garcia.

Charles called his last job behind the mike as the highlight of his career, a phrase that HBO Sports executive producer Rick Bernstein very much remembered.

Boxing legend Mike Tyson also offered his condolences to Charles’ family via Twitter.

“Mourning the loss of a true warrior. My Friend & Brother, Nick Charles,” Tyson stated Saturday.
