Rodarte, Zac Posen among designers having Target dresses re-released for anniversary collection

Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) – Target’s GO International collections, which sees the budget-friendly retailer collaborating with some of the biggest names in fashion, have proven to be so popular, some of the looks have sold out within hours.

Now, some of the most popular dresses are getting re-released in Target stores in celebration of the GO International collections’ 5th-year anniversary.

34 of the most popular dresses from the store’s 17 limited edition lines are going to be available again in stores and online beginning March 13th.

Among the looks are wallet-friendly designs from Zac Posen, Alice Temperley, and Proenza Schouler. The looks featured in the new anniversary collection are set to start at just $24.99.

Other designers having favorite looks re-introduced into stores are Rodarte, Behnaz Sarafpour, Erin Fetherston, Tara Jarmon, and Thakoon.

“GO International has an incredible following and we wanted to provide women who love fashion with a second chance to get their hands on some of the program’s most popular dresses,” said Trish Adams, senior vice president of apparel and accessories at Target.

Among the dresses making a return are Erin Fetherston’s black, loose tiers dress complete with bow detail, Rodarte’s lace slip dress, and Posen’s polka dot pink/purple dress.

The collection will be available until April 10th or, of course, until supplies last.

Ashanti gives Fashion Week a big “F U” with Massimo Dogana pumps

Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) – Ashanti hit New York Fashion Week this week and while she seemed happy about it, her shoes said otherwise.

The 30-year-old R&B singer hit the BCBG Max Azria fashion show to support one of her favorite designers, even sporting a leopard print BCBG Max Azria dress for the occasion.

She also sported some offensive footwear: the “F U” pumps by designer Massimo Dogana. The black, open-toed high heels feature the design of a woman’s manicured hand giving the middle finger.

As if that didn’t send enough of a message, “F*** You!” is written right there on the show, making these the most appropriate footwear for break-ups, shake-ups, or dancing behind Cee-Lo Green during a performance.

Some might consider the price for the “F U” pumps to be even more offensive. Those shoes retail for over $1,000.

Ashanti was front row at the runway show, where she flipped the bird to fellow celebs Jennifer Love Hewitt, Taraji P. Henson, singer Kelly Rowland, “30 Rock” star Katrina Bowden and model Maggie Rizer.

There is a mix of soft, delicate styles with sporty look in the Spring/Summer 2010. No doubt, you could trace a touch of past fashion but mixed with modern outlook in this season. The popular colors for the year are neutral shades, sober colors and also other colors like the blues, pinks, browns and surprisingly a color like neon green.

Early Hip Hop In the 1980′s, major brand names became synonymous with the hip hop fashion trends. Brands like Nike, Adidas and Clark shoes were sported with leather bomber jackets and brightly-colored track suits. Sports jerseys were a hot commodity, with Will Smith showing them off in his hit television show, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Aire.

Fashion is something that almost every woman follows. Last year, everything was about the recession. So, tough combative looks and aggressive 80′s dresses were trends. Starting a fashion trend in 2009 meant wearing biker jacket tops, blouses with exaggerated shoulders, and gladiator shoes. But this year is different.

Every year, women all over the United States must face the reality of the ever dreaded “swimsuit season.” Of all the swimsuits available on the market, a woman needs a suit that not only fits properly, but shows off her best assets as well.

Do you like the cold seasons? Hot tea and chocolate will make your day? Well, count the current fashion trends in for a mood booster, as the funny looking models and styles will also cheer you up a bit when you think you need more warmth.

A-line, Ball Gown, Princess, Empire, Mermaid, and Sheath are regarded as the six of the most classic styles. Among them, A-line style is the external classic welcomed by large numbers of brides for its simple style and flowing cut. Being the best sellers as well, Ball gowns and Princess style are the best choices for romantic and fairy-tale-like wedding.

Dresses are one trend in America that keeps changing rapidly. What you see today will be gone tomorrow. The latest fashion of dresses for the American ladies is the spring blouses which have really caught on this season. You will find most ladies sporting blouses with huge puff sleeves, kimono sleeves, ruching and those with fantastic graphic prints.

Next colour, which by the way has endured from last winter, is purple and certainly shouldn’t be missing in your wardrobe in the spring and summer if you like to radiate and attract and arouse curiosity in men.

Fashion is more or less synonymous with females. Most women have this undying craving of dressing up according to the on going fashion trends, no matter whether it suits them well or not. Fashion trends which change almost every fortnight, are endearingly followed by the female segment of our society.

The longer the shorts the cooler they are this summer. This goes for both adults as well as toddlers. The longer shorts help to protect little one’s legs from the sun as well as any falls they may take. The most popular and fashionable walking shorts for this summer are cargo shorts.

Summer is just around the corner and that means summer plus size fashion trends are here and items are sprouting up in a boutique or department store near you. Colors are bright, patterns are bold and some of the classics are back and trendier than ever.

Fall has finally arrived, and most of us are soaking in cool crisp mornings while looking forward to wearing sweaters, scarves and boots. Even in the more temperate climates, it is time to bring out those darker colors and stash away your summer clothing for the season. For all fabulous-over-50 women, no matter where we live, we want to look our best, which means incorporating new fashion trends in to our existing wardrobes.

Forward-thinking fashion designers have to predict the future as they create seasonal palettes 24 months before they actually hit the retail stores. The designers at Pantone, Inc., the world’s color authority for over 45 years, have been preparing for Fall & Winter 2010-2011 for over two years, and the colors of the seasons were selected with a “crystal ball,” taking into account the economy, technology and “the needs, moods, fantasies and aspirations of consumers.”

The 2010 Color of the Year is a beautiful tropical Turquoise, which has been transported into fall as “Lagoon.” Turquoise is a color that is flattering on most everyone, and can be paired Fall 2010 Lagoon with neutrals, reds, deep blues and greens to add a splash of extra color. Long thought to be a color of faith and truth inspired by water and sky, Lagoon can transport your thoughts to a tropical paradise as you go through the cold of winter.

Fall and Winter 2010 colors are titled “Mosaic,” and include vibrant colors of the universe, deep darks, and rich botanicals, all based on the mosaics of the environment and of the human personality. Along with Lagoon, these colors include:

* Endive—a yellow-green that can brighten an otherwise dark outfit

* Golden Glow—an earthy yellow, like in autumn leaves

* Living Coral—a soft orange with a pink undertone

* Lipstick Red—a dramatic sexy red

* Purple Orchid—a purple with fuchsia tones

* Chocolate Truffle—evoking visions of delicious treats in rich browns with purple undertones

* Woodbine—the season’s neutral green, darker than sage, and looks great paired with Purple Orchid and Chocolate Truffle

* Oyster Gray—the season’s classic neutral, lighter than the traditional fall gray and can be carried in to Spring 2011.

* Rose Dust—a romantic, flattering beige

Today’s over-50 women are more cautious than ever about spending money on clothes. Cate Adair, Costume designer for Desperate Housewives, says “In these economic times, it’s actually quite fashionable to get more life out of our closets before we buy new. As costs increase, so does our appreciation of beautiful fashion. Fashion now is something that needs to transcend seasons as well as be seasonal. My new fashion rule is to embrace colors that make you feel good and breathe new life into your closet. Now more than ever is the time to mix new colorful accessories with your classic silhouettes. You’ll be amazed at what a splash of color can do to both your ‘look’ and your ‘outlook.’”

Sometimes, all it takes is a one new piece of clothing or a “wow” accessory that you can mix and match to update your current wardrobe for fashion over 50. If you can only get one new item, here are some suggestions in the season’s “must-haves” from some well-known designers.

Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) – Holiday shoppers, beware. Animal lovers and fashionistas everywhere are getting duped by buying products with “faux” fur when it’s actually coming from animals, even dogs.

Inside Edition’s I-Squad was investigating the “faux” fur faux pas, which has plagued retail stores around this season for yet another year. Last year, the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) tested products labeled with “faux fur” actually had hair from a canine species known as the raccoon dog.

The clothes, pulled from stores Macy’s, JC Penney, and Burlington Coat Factory, were from designers like Sean John, Calvin Klein, and Tommy Hilfiger.

Also, mislabeling even affected those purchasing high-end fur products, including a $1300 Burberry women’s jacket sold last year which was sold as “faux,” but included the same raccoon dog hair.

Neiman Marcus was selling a pair of $1,500 fur-trimmed Manolo Blahnik boots, advertised as including natural ocelot fur, an endangered species and therefore illegal. A Neiman Marcus spokesperson later fessed up it was goat fur.

Model, television personality and animal lover Joanna Krupa, who once posed nude for anti-fur ads, told Inside Edition, “Animal lovers are purchasing fur that they think is fake but it is real. That’s horrifying to me!”

According to HSUS, “false advertising or labeling of fur is punishable under the Fur Products Labeling Act by up to one year in prison and/or a $5,000 fine. The use of trade names on labels to describe the animals is prohibited.”
