Santa Monica, CA, United States (AHN) – There’s a new dance show in town…and it’s no “Dancing With the Stars.” VH1 is looking for the most outrageously talented and wildly entertaining dancers from across the country to compete in a new weekly dance competition show called “Dance Cam Slam.” Anyone with a web cam and a high speed internet connection can audition at DanceCam.VH1.com.

In this show, contestants compete in three rounds, but they never need to travel to the show’s studio in Los Angeles – they compete from the comfort of their own homes and simply dance in front of their web cam.

The judges for the show are Brandon Henschel, a choreographer and dancer who has appeared in Britney Spears’ “Oops! I Did It Again” music video and several movies, and Jordan Feldman, an actor who has appeared in “I Love You, Man” and “Entourage.”

“Dance Cam Slam” will be hosted by Marianela Pereyra, who has hosted several shows on Fuse TV, as well as “Poker After Dark” on NBC. Unlike other hosts of dancing-related shows, Pereyra can actually relate to dance – her parents were professional tango dancers, and she herself is classically trained in ballet.

However, this show is very unlike “Dancing With the Stars,” she says. “‘Dancing With the Stars’ is all about glam and has a celebrity component. This show is all about the viewers and they’re pulled through by viewers, and they’re just dancing in front of their webcams letting it rip. They don’t know how many people are watching them, and that’s what makes it so fun.”

Dancers will compete in three rounds, and judges score the dancers based on the overall entertainment value of their performance on a scale of one to ten and the best combined score moves on. Contestants will all appear in individual windows on a giant video screen in our Los Angeles studio.

During the final round, viewers at home will vote live at DanceCam.VH1.com and by text messaging on VH1 Mobile to determine which of the three finalists will win the $5,000 cash prize and return next week to defend the crown. Viewers at home can also comment on the dancers live via Twitter and possibly even see their tweets appear in the show.

Pereyra says she’s very excited for the show to start, and even though it premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 10 pm – which is the time slot following “Dancing With the Stars” – she’s not worried.

“You never know what the judges are going to say, and you never know what people will do to prove they’re the best,” she said. “I’m a big fan of improv, and this show is all about how entertaining you are and what you can bring to the table. We’re looking for people who will blow us away.”
